In Loving Memory of Lorraine Enright
Many of you have followed and supported Ken and Lorraine Enright over the many years they have served here in Africa. We are sad to inform you that Lorraine passed away on the 10th of August, 2016. She passed away peacefully into the arms of Christ and we want to thank you for your love and support during this difficult time. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Enright Flight Ministry on the link below "Pray, Partner, Give, Go" or you can send a check to "Enright Flight Ministries, 1919 Jackson Lane, Port Orange, FL 32128." The Honey Business
The Foundation - Training Pastors into the Future
Pastors' School will be celebrating our 54th anniversary this year. And we have grown from 5 pastors to over 160! With that growth come expenses - at this point about $160,000/year! The Foundation's goal is to form an endowment of $2.5 million that will fund the pastors solely from the interest. If you're interested in helping, click here.
A Deep Gladness: Stories from the Lives of Ken and Lorraine Enright
"Imagine the terror of being held captive and threatened with execution or surviving the life-threatening injuries of two airplane crashes..." In this book by Gina Riendeau, Lorraine Enright recounts some of the rich stories that characterized her five decades of missionary service with her husband Ken Enright. "A Deep Gladness" is available in bookstores and online at Amazon.com - there's even a Kindle edition! And, in addition, 100% of proceeds from this book go to support the Kafakumba Pastors' School!!!
We have started a preschool as an extension of the God's Kids ministry here at Kafakumba Training Center. We have 11 at-risk children who come from mostly single-parent homes. (See the picture of them on the home page slide show on the merry-go-round).
We are celebrating the results of this last May harvest (we get 2 harvests a year in May and November). Currently there are over 80,000 bee hives around Zambia - franchises that help both the villager and Kafakumba - that produce a LOT of honey! How much honey you ask? 120 tonnes (1 tonne = 1,000 kg or 2,200 lbs) from this last harvest in May, 2016!!
Help fight stereotypes
The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story.
