OUR STORY
A Vision That Continues to Change Lives
Kafakumba Christian School began with a simple but powerful vision: to provide children in rural Zambia with access to a quality, Christ-centered education regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
Inspired by a deep love for the children in the surrounding communities, Lorraine Enright recognized that education could become one of the greatest tools for lasting transformation. What began as a small preschool soon revealed an even greater need, leading to the establishment of Kafakumba Christian School in 2017.
Today, the school serves more than 174 students, providing free Christian education, daily meals, biblical discipleship, and compassionate care. Every classroom is an opportunity to help students discover their God-given purpose and prepare them to impact their families, communities, and nation.

Daily Meals
Every student receives nutritious breakfast and lunch each school day. Healthy meals help students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn while easing the burden on families.
Compassionate Care
Through the Kafakumba Clinic, students have access to medical care when they need it. By caring for their physical health, we help them thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

OUR JOURNEY
Growing Through God's Faithfulness
What began as a vision to give young children a stronger start has grown into a Christ-centered school serving students across multiple grade levels. Each milestone reflects God’s provision and the commitment of those who have helped the school grow.
2015
The Vision Begins for Kafakumba School
Kafakumba Christian School began from Lorraine Enright’s heart for children living in the communities surrounding Kafakumba. The first preschool grew out of the God’s Kids outreach program, giving local children an early foundation for learning.
2017
Kafakumba Christian School Is Established
After two years of preschool, it became clear that the children would benefit from continuing their education at Kafakumba. At the beginning of the 2017 school year, the preschool expanded and was officially registered as a private school with Zambia’s Ministry of Education.
2023
A Permanent Home Takes Shape for the School
After years of planning and reaching the $100,000 Phase 1 funding goal, construction began on the New Horizons school expansion. Phase 1 included seven primary classrooms, staff and supply spaces, and a shared library.
2025
Students Move into the New School
Phase 1 was completed, and the primary grades moved into their new school building—a major step toward establishing a permanent home for Kafakumba Christian School.
Today
The Story Continues
Kafakumba Christian School continues to grow while preparing for Phase 2, which is planned to include secondary classrooms, science and computer labs, additional facilities, a playground, and sports fields. The vision remains the same: to see students through graduation with a quality education and prepare them for a bright future.
